Shanghai Cheap Flights

I plan arriving in china wherever flight is cheapest and from there going to hong kong, shanghai, and dengfeng. is there a good train/bus system or cheap way of transportation? (even getting moped if its possible) whatever is cheapest.

or will i have to get a plane ticket to my different destinations?

The flight to Hong Kong from Chicago was 15 hours and back was 14 whereas the flight to Shanghai or Beijing is only about 11 hours and 12 hours back to Chicago.

Why does it take 3 hours longer to fly to HK aren’t they all in China?

I am traveling to Asia and want to hub in one city and visit several others like Bangkok, KL, Taipei, Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore, HCM, Seoul, and maybe Shanghai and Tokyo (as they are further away)…but I’d like to find a hub city with low cost regional carriers to get the lowest flight costs. So far, I know of Air Asia and Cebu Pacific. Are they the lowest for this kind of trip. Best.
